Student ambassadors commit to assisting the Society of St. Vincent de Paul with their mission by leading service projects, recruiting other students, serving as a SVdP campus ambassador, and committing to one (one hour) Leadership meeting per month. Every other month, students will receive leadership training.
There are many opportunities to serve with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Students can volunteer at one of our 54 parish based conferences. They can also coordinate food drives, Christmas drives, organize a Souper Bowl of Caring event to benefit SVdP, or engage in our Letters of Love campaigns.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Texas believes in providing educational and networking opportunities for our youth and young adults. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to attend local, regional, national, and international conferences where students can present their service projects, meet other young Catholics, and learn best practices.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Southwest Texas is launching a Youth Ambassador Program. Students in 8th grade to 12th grade are eligible to apply.
Students must submit one paragraph about applicant and what they do for the Society that embodies leadership, dedication, and passion towards the Vincentian charisms of spirituality, friendship, and service. If they have no experience with SVdP, other service related activities can be used.
Students must also attach one letter of recommendation from an educator (can be school or religious educator).
10 Ambassadors will be chosen each year.
Application closes October 10, 2022.
